This is the perfect way to gain confidence and be job-ready when you graduate! Students have the opportunity to work for "The Perch," which is the student-run mobile coffee shop!

FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) is your chance to step up, lead, and make an impact! FCCLA's mission is to promote personal growth and leadership development through Family and Consumer Sciences education.

As an FCCLA member, you’ll have the opportunity to compete in fields like culinary arts, fashion, education, hospitality and tourism, and more.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop important skills like leadership, communication, and teamwork, all while working on exciting projects and giving back to your community. Plus, it looks awesome on your resume and college applications!

Meet The Teachers

Mrs. Jacobs (High School Culinary)

Mrs. Jacobs has worked in the food industry for 28 years and has worked in education for 7 years. She currently teaches multiple courses, including: Food Safety, Culinary Arts I, and Culinary Arts II. Mrs. Jacobs also owns and operates her own food truck called The Sugar Shack where she crafts homemade desserts and treats with a personal touch. Her blend of culinary expertise and down-to-earth kindness makes her a favorite among students and a true gem in the kitchen.

When asking Mrs. Jacobs what she loves about her pathway she said, "food truly is the universal love language. Teaching students the skills to nourish themselves and those around them fills my heart with joy. It's about empowering them to show care and connection, loving others from the inside out through the meals they create." Mrs. Jacobs is known for her patient and supportive teaching style. She loves helping students discover their love for cooking and guiding them every step of the way.

Fun Fact: She is a member of the Board of Directors for To The Table, which is a non-profit organization that provides weekly meals to anyone, serving 800-1000 meals per week! To The Table encourages individuals and families to take a break and gather around the table with those they love.

Ms. Reagan (Junior High FACS)

Ms. Reagan graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in Nutrition and Family Sciences and a minor in Teaching and Learning. This is her 2nd year in education, and she has taught many courses including: Culinary Arts I, Culinary Arts II, Lifetime Fitness and Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences, and Career Development.

When asking Ms. Reagan what she loves about her pathway she said, "I enjoy my pathway because it prepares our students for the real world and I love getting to see them apply what they learn to their own lives. The content classes we get to teach are full of things that they will use for the rest of their lives."

Fun Facts: She was a competitive dancer for most of her life and has held jobs as a cheer and dance coach! Since graduating from high school, she has done a lot of traveling and has spent time living in Florida, South Carolina, and Washington D.C.
