Program Highlights

Earn College Credit

Did you know you can get a head start on college by taking Advanced Placement (AP) art courses? At Pea Ridge High School, students enrolled in AP 2D Design or AP Drawing have the opportunity to earn college credit by demonstrating their skills on the AP Art Exam.

  • Here’s how it works:

    • Build Your Portfolio: Throughout the year, you’ll create a portfolio of original artworks that showcase your creativity, technical skills, and personal voice.

    • Submit Your Work: At the end of the course, your portfolio will be submitted to the College Board for review and scoring by a panel of art professionals and educators.

    • Earn College Credit: If your portfolio meets or exceeds the scoring criteria, many colleges and universities will award you credit, saving you time and money while advancing your academic journey.

Taking an AP art class not only helps you stand out on college applications but also gives you a real taste of the expectations and challenges of higher-level art programs.
