It's Paraprofessional Appreciation Day!
Today we are celebrating the hard working men and women who provide crucial support to both Pea Ridge students and teachers. Our district depends on the extra attention and care that they bring to each building, everyday.
Thank you to our amazing team of Paraprofessionals and aides!

For the month of April, the Pea Ridge School District is partnering with the Pea Ridge Lions Club to participate in their “Lions Recycle for Sight” campaign. During this time, each school will have a collection bin located in the nurse’s office, where students & staff members can drop off old eyeglasses, reading glasses or sunglasses in any condition.
Once collected, the Lions Club ships the glasses to a recycling center where trained volunteers decide on the next steps for each pair. Some are renewed for reuse, and those not suitable for reuse are recycled for scrap, with the earnings going back towards providing glasses for students in need (free of charge).

On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of hosting a meet and greet with our new Pea Ridge Junior High principal, Sarah Raymond!
It was a wonderful opportunity for PRJH staff to introduce themselves and officially welcome her to the district.
With nearly a decade of administrative experience and a passion for student success, Mrs. Raymond is eager to build strong relationships and help lead our school forward.
We’re excited to have her as part of the Blackhawk family!

March 2nd-6th was the nationally recognized "Read Across America" week where schools work to celebrate reading and literacy, while students are encouraged to read more and learn about the benefits of reading.
Thanks to a generous anonymous donor who loved participating in Read Across America week as a kid, Pea Ridge Primary was able to celebrate by having each teacher nominate 6 students who have been celebrating reading this year. A random drawing chose one student from each grade level from the nominated students.
Attached is the photo of our winners from the RAA contest.
Kinder- Isabella Trimmell 1st - Kaiden Clark 2nd - Easton Cooper
Great work PRPS, student readers, and shout out to our generous donor!

Pea Ridge Drama Troupe is 2 months from opening night of their spring play, and the cast and crew are working so hard to make this crazy show come to life! There’s dancing, singing, sock puppets, potions, giant snakes, and of course wizards! You won’t want to miss this one!
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs...who just happened to be there too. Wayne Hopkins is a regular boy who finds out he’s a wizard and goes to the same certain Wizard School where he makes two best friends and has adventures. This perhaps sounds familiar. But, Wayne is sorted as a Puff, and he and the other Puffs simply want to learn how to be wizards and how to get through seven increasingly dangerous years of school. The lovable characters in this story are “Funny, intelligent, silly, heartwarming, a little worn and slightly ignored.” Ultimately, Puffs is a tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world. Go Badgers!
