Academics: A Parent's Guide

In the Pea Ridge School District, our collaborative teacher teams use four critical questions to ensure that all students learn and grow. This work ensures that all students have access to the same learning opportunities no matter the classroom assignment and that all students are prepared for the next level of learning.

What do we want all students to know  and be able to do?

Teachers use the Arkansas Academic Standards to design daily learning targets for students in every class.

How will we know if they learn it?

Teachers use formative assessments to monitor student learning related to the learning targets. In addition, we monitor student progress in math and reading in grades K-10 using NWEA MAP Growth.

What will we do when they do learn it?

Each campus includes time for enrichment in the daily schedule to deepen student learning once they master a learning target.

What will we do if they haven't  learned it yet?

Each campus includes time for intervention in the daily schedule to reteach and reassess when students need additional time to master a learning target.
