updated football field

At the September school board meeting, Superintendent Keith Martin recommended that the board approve a resurfacing of our current football field and a replacement of our turf track with a state-of-the-art hard surface track. Both surfaces are currently nearing the end of their life expectancy of 8-10 years, having been in operation since 2013. The board approved both improvement projects. Pictured is a rendering from Geo Surfaces showcasing these new, improved facilities. The field will also be striped for soccer, with intentions of starting men's and women's soccer teams in the near future.

This will benefit not only our students, but our community as a whole, as our field and track are often utilized by youth teams and community members. We love being able to partner with our community for these activities and are excited to provide all with the best facilities possible. These upgrades will not only enhance safety for our athletes but will also improve our capability to host track and field competitions, therefore enhancing fan experience as well. This will require that the track be closed during the construction phase, and we will announce those dates closer to the time construction will begin.

Future recommendations are also going to include a new, updated sound system for Blackhawk Stadium, paving by the concession stand, and an updated band seating area located in the north end zone. We will continue to update the community on the next steps as we progress through each phase.
