sewing

In collaboration with Project 479, our Gifted and Talented students took on Challenge Day! Read about what they worked on and take a look at the pictures here!

3rd Grade

We were learning about the sea. I took the famous painting The Great Wave and cut it into smaller individual pieces. Each student learned to sew buttons and sequins to fill in their square to match their piece. We also made Oceans in a bottle!

4th Grade

We have been studying a Great Heart. They learned to cross stitch a heart and made a heart shaped kindness chain.

5th Grade

Fifth grade students, who have been studying Cultures in Conflict, learned how to make dream catchers and how to sew a small bag.

6th Grade

Students made depression glass and created a garment from recycled materials. It was a great experience for them to learn something different from a normal classroom and be challenged.
